About Sirona

Penny is a registered Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, Nutrigenetic Counsellor, Kinesiologist and Sound Therapist with an absolute passion for helping others on their own journey toward whole, lifelong, optimal health.  Penny's own wellness story began 18 years ago, when her partner was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, a painful, inflammatory condition affecting the bowel. During his stay in hospital, medical staff told Penny's partner that he could eat whatever he wanted, including foods from the nearby McDonalds.

At the time Penny had no nutritional training, but somehow this advice just didn't seem right.  A family friend suggested consulting a Nutritional Therapist, and that experience turned out to be a light-bulb moment for both Penny and her partner, and set Penny on a path that culminated in her qualification as a Registered Nutritional Therapist in March 2014 and Nutrigenetic Counsellor in February 2015.

Along the way, Penny has experienced first and second hand the incredible natural healing power of the human body, when it is nourished and supported in the right ways.  Above all, Penny learned the importance of individualistic care.  Nutritional advice must be precisely tailored to not only the individual’s physical concerns, but also be mindful of their time and financial resources.

As such, Penny's approach is 100% client centred. When meeting a new client, Penny draws a full picture; considering their mind, body and spirit, physical and social environment factors, right down to their genetic makeup and family history.

Penny firmly believes that our bodies are always striving for optimal health (even although it may not always appear this way!), and are simply doing the best they can with the resources available.  Penny's mission is to assist your body on its own journey toward optimal health, by identifying imbalances and deficiencies, and advising how to provide the body with the resources it needs to do what it does best; to heal and to thrive.

Currently Penny offers one-to-one consultations in Edinburgh and East Lothian.  She also runs occasional workshops and gives talks throught the UK.  Penny also assists with the College of Naturopathic Medicine Student Clinics.
